Alternative Drainage sets the standard for drainage services in Yorkshire
Alternative Drainage has been providing drainage services to the homes and businesses of Yorkshire for over 20 years. Our Drainage Engineers and Plumbing Engineers work daily dealing with the blocked drains and blocked toilets of commercial and domestic properties throughout Yorkshire and the surrounding areas As a result our engineers understand the Yorkshire Drainage Systems, and we understand the needs of the local people.
We have undertaken many projects throughout Yorkshire including Leeds, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Bradford, York, Barnsley and Halifax. Yorkshire is the largest county in the United Kingdom and is a historic county situated in the north east of England. Nicknamed “Gods Own Country”, Yorkshire is home to some of the greenest areas in the United Kingdom including the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors.
Yorkshire has a mixed economy. Leeds is the largest city and the main centre of trade and commerce being one of the UK’s largest financial centres. Sheffield traditionally had mainly heavy industrial manufacturing such as coal mining and steel. However, since the decline in heavy industry Sheffield has reinvented itself as a world renowned centre for specialist engineering. Bradford, Halifax, Keighley and Huddersfield are traditional centres of wool milling. North Yorkshire has an established tourist industry with two national parks, Harrogate, York and Scarborough. Hull is Yorkshire’s largest port and has a large manufacturing base.

After using my shower in the morning, I noticed that the water was not running away properly down the plughole. This was causing me some concern because my bathroom is a wet room, and the water level began rising and running out of the bathroom into the hallway. I suspected it was a drain problem, but wasn’t sure who to use. I looked on the Alternative Drainage website and noticed they do lots of work for local authorities so I felt I could trust them. I spoke to Emma who reassured me not to worry and that she would have one of their Leeds Drain Engineers out to me that afternoon. Upon arriving their Leeds drainage engineer put my mind at rest and suggested it was probably something really simple. Within half an hour he had resolved the blocked drain using a simple rod and then ensured that all the remaining water had drained away. I was really impressed with their approach and would certainly recommend their Leeds Drain Services to other people with disabilities. Thanks again.”
Commercial drains differ from domestic drainage systems in a number of ways, but primarily in...
